Abstract to Awesome: Transforming abstract backgrounds into art
Who doesn’t love making abstract backgrounds? I could make them all day – it’s the ultimate playtime, with no pressure, just color and texture. If you have some of these lying around, or feel like making some new ones, I’d like to share my technique for transforming them into paintings. The course contains over three hours of guided demonstration (and oopsies! ) as well as a list of the supplies I used. I hope it will encourage you to experiment and see things in a different way.
A note about this course
It’s just me, unedited, creating in my studio and talking through what I’m thinking and doing. These are not rehearsed projects, but "experiments with intent", with changes to plans and modifications on the fly! Learning to make modifications is so important when working with alcohol ink.
The course includes:
Over three hours of guided demonstration and how to handle "mishaps" (pre-recorded in 13 video segments)
The creation of three different pieces of art
A list of materials I used in the course
