New for 2018
"Take Me Home" Alcohol ink on triple-primed canvas, 2018
The strongest driving factor (and fun factor) for me in my art is experimentation. I love trying new techniques, different tools and a wide variety of substrates. I've especially enjoyed the way the inks move on non-porous surfaces:
Glazed tile
Plastic
Acrylic
Glass
Metal
Yupo paper
Mineral paper
Over the last couple of months I've experimented on more porous surfaces for some different, but equally beautiful, results:
Gesso board
Claybord
Triple-primed canvas (shown above)
Paper and canvas treated with gel medium
I've also been playing with different tools to apply and guide the inks, as well as various masking techniques. Look for more of this type of work on my website, and some new workshops later this year!
